Under the leadership of Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla, the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) conducted 208 operations against illegal gambling from January 1 to June 30, 2026. These operations resulted in 324 arrests and the confiscation of P92,899 in cash bets.
A total of 208 court cases were filed for violations of Republic Act 9287 and Presidential Decree No. 1602. The City Intelligence Unit (CIU) led the arrests with 40 individuals apprehended, followed by several local police stations. The Icpo emphasized that these efforts are part of a broader commitment to suppressing criminality and maintaining peace and order in Iloilo City, urging citizens to report illegal activities via emergency hotlines.
