Now, anyone below 21 years cannot enter gambling zone of casinos
Summary
The Goa state government has amended the Goa Public Gambling Act, 1976, to prohibit anyone under the age of 21 from entering designated gambling areas in onshore and offshore casinos. These areas include partitioned sections in five-star hotels or vessels where slot machines and table games are operated.
In addition to the age restriction, the government has approved new Goa Public Gambling Rules to regulate operations. These rules include a provision for a 18% annual penal interest on delayed license fee payments. Once fully implemented, a gaming commissioner will be responsible for maintaining visitor records and monitoring casino inventory.
