GLI Secures Approval as One of Three Test Labs for New Zealand’s Regulated Online Casino Market
Summary
Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has been approved to provide independent testing services for New Zealand’s newly regulated online casino gambling market. It is one of three test labs named in a discussion draft of the country’s Testing and Monitoring Requirements for Online Casino Gambling Technology, alongside Quality Assurance Laboratories and BMM Australia.
New Zealand’s Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 sets the framework for the regulated market, with the licence application stage scheduled to begin in October 2026 under a competitive allocation process. GLI’s approval allows operators and suppliers preparing to enter the market to access its iGaming testing and compliance expertise.
Richard Howarth, GLI APAC Managing Director, said New Zealand represents an important development for regulated iGaming in the APAC region, and that GLI’s teams are ready to help operators and suppliers navigate the new regulatory requirements. The approval follows two earlier APAC milestones: GLI became the first independent gaming testing laboratory accredited by PAGCOR to test and certify iGaming platforms in the Philippines, and in August it was listed by Uzbekistan’s regulator among accepted laboratories. GLI serves more than 710 regulated gaming jurisdictions worldwide and maintains APAC labs in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
