Jamaica’s first casino to open February 2027
Summary
After over a decade of legislative preparation following the 2010 Casino Gaming Act, Jamaica's first regulated casino, Adamas Grand Casino Jamaica, is scheduled to open in February 2027. Located at Princess Grand Jamaica in Green Island, Hanover, the facility will be operated by Adamas Grand Casino Limited under a management agreement with the Spanish company Grupo Orenes.
The casino will offer slot machines and live table games such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker, alongside a sports bar, premium dining, and a nightclub. Unlike some international models, both tourists and Jamaican citizens will be permitted to gamble at the facility. The project is part of a US$400-million investment in the region by Princess Hotels and Resorts.
To begin operations, the operator must satisfy several regulatory requirements from the Casino Gaming Commission (CGC), including strict security, anti-money laundering, and responsible gaming protocols. The opening is expected to diversify Jamaica's tourism sector and has already contributed to the creation of approximately 100 new jobs.
