NBA star Anthony Edwards Tells Judge He Fears Baby Mama Will Waste Child Support on Gambling

Anthony Edwards asks a judge to place part of his child support payments in a trust, fearing his ex will spend the money on sports gambling.

Summary

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has asked a judge to place a portion of his $14,000 monthly child support payments into a trust, citing fears that his ex, Alexandria Desroches, will waste the money on online sports gambling. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Edwards claims Desroches testified that she gambled through DraftKings dozens of times per month in 2025 while arguing his support payments were inadequate. He also alleges she omitted income, including cash tips from a second job, and overstated child-related expenses. In her response, Desroches dismissed the request, noting Edwards has not sought parenting time with their son Amir (born in 2023), has never met the child in person, and may not have sent him a gift. She admitted gambling on DraftKings but said the wagers were only about $10 each and were "placed out of boredom," adding that she has since stopped using the account and that her total DraftKings activity had a net of $998.20 for 2025.
