ED attaches opinion trading platform Probo's Rs 117 crore assets for allowing online gambling
Summary
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth ₹117.41 crore belonging to Probo Media Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and its directors' family members, as part of a money-laundering investigation. The ED alleges that Probo’s app and website functioned as an online gambling platform disguised as an online gaming platform. The investigation began following multiple FIRs registered against the company for cheating users through schemes promising earnings from “yes or no” questions, which were, in reality, gambling. The ED’s investigation revealed that Probo falsely presented itself as a skill-based gaming platform, generating illicit gains of approximately ₹1,245.64 crore. Following the enactment of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, Probo ceased operations in August 2025. This action against Probo is part of a wider crackdown on online gambling platforms by the ED.
