New M hotel tower boosts revenue for regional casino giant
Summary
Penn Entertainment Inc. reported a 6.3 percent increase in retail revenue to $137.6 million for its western division, largely due to the December opening of a new 375-room tower at the M Resort, bringing the total hotel capacity to 765 rooms. CEO Jay Snowden highlighted the efficiency of minimizing labor costs by leveraging existing hospitality infrastructure. The expansion allowed the resort to accommodate larger groups and conventions, with group sales increasing by 20 percent year-over-year. The M Resort’s success, along with the relocation of a Hollywood casino in Illinois, contributed to an overall revenue increase from $1.67 billion in Q4 2024 to $1.8 billion in Q4 2025, and cash flow rose from $165.2 million to $225.8 million. Despite these gains, the company reported a net loss of $73.4 million in 2025, though improved from the $133.3 million loss in 2024. Penn Entertainment is optimistic about future projects, including casino relocations and a new tower construction in Ohio.
