This comparison arises from legislation creating a 14th casino license in Indiana. The Steuben County study, conducted by AM Steinberg Advisors, estimates between $14.1 million and $16.6 million in annual tax revenue for the county, representing 20-23% of its 2025 property and income tax revenue. The casino's success would rely on attracting out-of-state visitors, with the potential to create 800-1,200 jobs and require a $500 million investment, including a 200-250 bed hotel. The legislation requires a local referendum and prohibits public funding or tax abatements for the development.
