Chatham-Kent has received a payment of $441,738 from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for hosting Cascades Casino in the third quarter of 2025. This brings the total received by the municipality so far this fiscal year (April 1, 2025, to March 31) to nearly $1.38 million. Since the casino opened in April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received over $20.9 million. Payments are determined by a formula outlined in the Municipality Contribution Agreement, based on gaming revenue. MPP Trevor Jones highlighted the importance of this funding for local services and quality of life, noting that 100% of OLG profits are reinvested into Ontario communities. Host communities have received nearly $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994, and OLG continues to contribute to economic development and job creation.
