Aurora working to set liquor rules for new Hollywood Casino resort
Summary
The city of Aurora is establishing a unique set of liquor license regulations for the upcoming Hollywood Casino resort, set to open before June 30th. These licenses will differ from standard city licenses, potentially allowing patrons to carry drinks throughout the resort—a feature enabled by a “strolling” endorsement. Three license types are proposed: general on-site, specialty on-site (for hotel mini-bars and room service), and package sales. The casino will feature alcohol sales at five locations, including a sportsbook bar, O Bar, Red Lotus restaurant, & Vine entertainment bar, and the casino floor itself, with additional licenses sought for the spa, hotel, VIP lounge, and social hall. The 24-hour gaming floor will be permitted to sell alcohol from 9:30 a.m. to 4 a.m., while other areas will adhere to standard city hours. The resort will also include amenities like a Drift Spa, Sorella Italian steakhouse by Giada De Laurentiis, and the Boulevard Food & Drink Hall featuring restaurants from Stephanie Izard and Shawn McClain.
