Okebet was fined $100,000 by the Victorian Gambling Regulation Act for breaching regulations regarding direct marketing to self-excluded gamblers. Opie, a life member of the Richmond Football Club who previously worked there for 24 years, joined the Gold Coast Suns in February 2024 to take up a similar role following the departure of head coach Damien Hardwick.
