Tribe to open new temporary casino this summer
Summary
The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe is set to open a new temporary casino facility this summer on its existing reservation land in Leggett. The 24-hour facility will feature 300 electronic bingo machines, a 24-hour deli, a fountain drink station, a player's club, and approximately 300 parking spaces. Tribal Council Chairman Ricky Sylestine stated that the temporary casino will provide a positive economic impact for Polk County and surrounding communities, creating 110 new jobs and strengthening local partnerships. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Naskila Casino Resort is scheduled for June 18. The tribe also owns and operates Naskila Casino and Ischoopa Travel Center on the same reservation.
